Maintenance & Support

Continued engineering with a written scope. Not a promise that someone is awake at every hour.

What this work is

Maintenance is the work after launch: defects, small features, dependency updates, and the questions that appear once real people use the software. It can cover a product we built or an existing system we agree to take on after looking at it.

Problems this usually addresses

The people who built it have gone

A live system still needs changes, and the only documentation is the code.

Small fixes never quite start

Each request is too small for a new project and too important to leave in a list.

Support was promised without a scope

“We will look after it” does not say what is included, how fast, or what happens outside working hours.

Typical capabilities

  • Defect investigation and fixes
  • Small features that fit the existing product
  • Dependency and runtime updates
  • A written list of what the agreement covers
  • Handover notes so the system is not trapped with one person

Engineering approach

Support is a scoped engineering agreement. We do not advertise round-the-clock cover. Restrowise and Swaasa Office are systems we understand because we built them. Taking on someone else’s system starts with a look at the code, not a blanket promise.

How an engagement runs

The useful first step is a short review of what is live, what is fragile, and which changes are waiting. The agreement follows that review.

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn the operation, the users, and the constraints before proposing software.

  2. 02

    Plan

Scope, architecture, and a sequence of work that can be reviewed while it is being built.

  3. 03

    Design

Flows and interface structure, resolved far enough that engineering is not guessing.

  4. 04

    Engineer

Production-minded increments, with direct conversation from the people writing the code.

  5. 05

    Test

Behaviour, integrations, and the paths people actually take, checked before release.

  6. 06

    Launch & Evolve

Release, then stay with the product so it remains maintainable as the business changes.

Questions we are often asked

Do you offer 24/7 support?

No. Cover is agreed in writing for a scope and a response expectation. We do not claim round-the-clock support.

Can you maintain software you did not build?

Sometimes. We need to read the system first and say honestly whether we can take it on.

Is a retainer the only option?

No. A defined block of fixes can be a project. A retainer suits a product that changes every month.
